I want to create a program that manages a database and generates PDF reports. Where do I start?
Elasticsearch document oriented databases can read rich text documents like PDFs. A document can process & store an attachment file, e.g. PDF, and parse its raw text for full text searches. The underlying Java software to process rich text documents is called Apache Tika. Even audio and image files can have text meta-data to process.
