Is there an easy way to create a searchable archive of my own PDF files and make it available online?

Generally, a scanned PDF or a PDF that was created from an image will not be searchable nor editable. So you need a tool with OCR feature which can help you convert these kinds of PDF to be searchable and even editable. OCR stands for optical character recognition, and PDFelement is an all-in-one PDF tool with the OCR functionality. Open your non-searchable PDF into PDFelement, click the “Convert” > “OCR” button, and choose “Searchable Text” or “Editable Text” mode as you want. Editable text is also searchable, however searchable text may not be editable. Get detailed steps about how to convert PDF to searchable PDF.

OCR function takes a different kind of text, so you will have a different result with different types of text. Now that you can convert non-searchable PDF to searchable PDF, it's time to open the OCR dialog. Do not try to open the OCR dialog from within a PDF. You won't be able to open the OCR dialog from within any other PDF document. Now, choose open” OCR” as the file ‐→open‍‌ action and press the —OK key which opens the open OCR” dialog. Choose one of the three types of input file as the input file.
