I've opened up a document in notability which includes an imported PDF. While I can view my notes (things I marked on it), I can't view the actual imported PDF? Is there a way to prevent this?
Easy answer- Rename it and don’t add the extension. Of course, you won’t have access to the file. When you change the extension, you change the way the operating system locates the right program to read it. CHANGE the PDF file to what? You haven’t stated what other file formats you want to change it to? There is a program that allows you to change formats online. There are several that allow you to convert PDF to other file formats, but you have to have a format to be able to read it no matter what. Hard Answer- Removing the PDF file extension doesn’t make it editable if that’s what you want it for. PDF is MADE for Portable Document Format, that what it stands for, as a universal file format that every device can use. Removing that is very senseless as it won’t give you anything but garbage as the file will be corrupted and you lose that information. If you’re trying to get something to edit that information, then unless you have the key to unlock the file it isn’t going to happen. Most people create a PDF to share files with others so that t can make sure it isn’t compromised, edited, or otherwise rewritten. Your question doesn't have a reasonable answer to speak of that doesn't allude to improper use of the file. I would ask the bigger question, WHY do you want to remove the PDF extension from a book?
